It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 50 years since the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center opened in lower Manhattan. On April 3, 1973, the day before the dedication, the grandeur of these two buildings towered over the city, and countless individuals and businesses were ready to make their mark on the world.
The Twin Towers were a symbol of New York City’s ambition and resilience, and they represented a great leap forward in the evolution of global commerce. They would remain standing for nearly three decades, until the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
Today, the site of the Twin Towers is home to the 9/11 Memorial, a tribute to all of those who lost their lives on that fateful day. No matter how much time passes, we will never forget the courage, strength, and determination of those who worked in the Twin Towers, and the countless others who were affected by the tragedy.
